Isn't that a little like denial? Doing something and then denying that it happened the way that it did, revising it mentally, sort of like an historical revision of actual fact? If that's what you meant,
then I think a better choice would be to acknowledge the fact, acknowledge the impact that it had, or could have had, and then maybe have a conversation about what our words and actions might mean and how we can make it mean something else that's constructive, creative and collaborative. I have a problem with revisions. Maybe I don't quite understand what you're saying.
