you are absolutely right Krysta! The religious right knew & still knows how to organize behind religion in politics & have done an excellent job of it! There's even a doc. about it on Prime video (Bad Faith) explaining how they did step by step! Goes way back decades while the Democratic Party was sleeping. Citizens United, Tea Party are only a few of the groups involved in getting religion involved in politics/govt.

When we learn how they have planned this for years, it's a real forehead-slapper. We slept while they plotted and planned.....Never again!

Maybe my favorite one of these you've written. I've always had important people in my life from Red, Blue, and variations in between. Some of my in-laws, grandparents, students, neighbors, my first and second husbands...yes, you heard me--some of my closest friends have voted the "other" party. Most of those still living don't include Trump as a viable Republican. But there are 3 step-daughters who live in the South and my father-in-law. Am I going to write off my kids or father-in-law? Nope. But I do like conversations with the daughter, the husband of 38 years, etc. that share my politics. Also belong to and participate with my area's Dem group, write letters to Biden frequently (all grateful), and gleefully support his best gift to the US--the first woman president. I delegated twice for Hillary and really love to see this on the horizon again. That Kamala is Black and Indian--more pluses. When an issue gets me, I find ZOOMing with other Dems a great relief. Thanks again for your bravery, etc. Bravery is spiritual, ain't it?
