As we jog along our daily lives, it’s easy to forget we live in larger cycles than the 24-hour ones. Children grow so rapidly; it’s easy to watch them go through the cycles of youth. What happens once we reach our twenties and beyond? We can get bogged down in daily goals and duties and lose the larger focus.
Although generally there are specific growth challenges that accompany the various ages we go through, I’m not going to get into that here because it does vary from person to person. Sometimes we’ll see someone in their late teens or early twenties living as if they are in their 40’s or we’ll encounter someone in their early to mid-twenties who seems to still be living as a young teen.
What’s important is to step back every once in awhile and ask what cycle we’re in. Are we in a growing and expanding cycle or are we in a maintenance one? Are we in student mode or teacher mode? Are we confused about what cycle we’re in because we have to be focused on putting food on the table for our family - all that matters is we’re earning enough money to get by?
If we misinterpret the cycle we’re in, we can find ourselves to be unfulfilled and frustrated. Those are the times when nothing seems to work out for us, we struggle, and feel like we’re living in a maze from which we’ll never emerge.
We might think we’re in one mode while our soul is prompting us to be in another. Maybe we think we’re done doing anything new, but the soul is challenging us to do and be more than we ever thought we’d be or do. Maybe we keep trying to break new ground when our soul wants us to deepen where we are now.
Our sense of fulfillment and experience of abundance is tied closely to living our true stage. It’s worth asking yourself what stage of life you’re in and whether or not you’re aligning with it as deeply as you can. It’s also important to realize that our planet goes through various cycles of growth. The one she’s going through now is pretty intense. If we can remember this, we’ll feel less frantic when things seem to be challenging us on deep levels.
All of us have cycles of growth. Remembering this can help us be more compassionate towards others, the planet and ourselves.
Living in grace and ease,
Krysta
Right now I feel like I'm in several stages all at once. This year is starting off with a bang.
