Early on in our metaphysical journeys, most of us are told to “Expect the best,” and to “Expect Miracles.” I remember how great that felt at the time I first heard it. What a breath of fresh air and how diametrically opposed to the way I had been programmed.
Being raised Catholic, I was born into Original Sin and didn’t have much hope of ever becoming a really good person. I mean when you’re already doomed from birth, how far can you expect to go? The expectation we were encouraged to have was that maybe we could be spared the results of this amorphous sin because we had been baptized. Beyond that, there wasn’t a lot of hope for us. We were sinners from day one.
Then metaphysical teachings told me to expect the best and to expect miracles, that I was a decent person just because I existed. What a difference. The reason I bring this up is because right now we see a lot of negativity. During the height of the Covid shutdown, I saw this sign: 2020 - written by Stephen King; directed by Quentin Tarantino. I posted this on Facebook and people got a kick out of it. And it it still feels that way.
Besides a new variant of Covid 19 showing up, we continue to have shootings in schools and other public places, fires and floods, rampant discrimination against people of color and other minority groups, book-banning, a dysfunctional government, a divided nation - I’ll stop there. The picture right now isn’t pretty. However, remember this.
Expect the best. Expect a miracle (or two). We have to remember things frequently get worse before they get better. We are in a huge shift of energy and a planetary growth spurt. This isn’t always pretty and never easy
.Even though it might be difficult, I prefer to use my higher vision. I prefer to expect the best out of my fellow humans and I like to think that my contribution can help even when things are looking pretty dire.
I am proud of the people who are protesting and demanding that all citizens be treated with respect and dignity no matter the color of their skin, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, or shoe size. I don’t know how we think we could ever welcome people from other planets when we can’t even accept one another’s differences. Let’s work on that diversity first and maybe, just maybe, some more advanced beings from other planets will feel it’s safe for them to visit us. Until then, I think they are keeping their distance waiting for us to grow up.
Living grace and ease,
Krysta
I've been raised to be kind and not judge. My mother had her chosen belief and church but my brother and I were allowed to grow up with basic respect for others and choose our beliefs and church as we see fit. Other beings were always seen as just part of the norm even if they were not visible to all. My brother, who is 7 years older, has gone to a very extreme side of an organized religion. We are not close nor have we spoken since 1998 when our mother passed. He knows nothing about me except that my life does not meet his approval. My church is the sky above and the earth beneath. My spirit has had many lives, according to a Native Elder. I am not rich with money but I am rich with kindness and friendships. At 64 I think I've done pretty well for myself, but I never stop. I'm also stubborn but careful.
With my current point of view, the best I can hope for, or allow myself to expect, is a "planetary growth spurt" that moves fast enough that wide-spread planetary enlightenment will be established by the time of my next reincarnation.
