Most everyone I know is still in shock that the events unfolding right now in Ukraine are actually happening. I think most of us believed a ground war on European soil couldn’t happen. We thought this was outside the sphere of possibility. Apparently, we were wrong. However…..
I am greatly encouraged to see the world’s response. The world is speaking out against what Putin is doing and against the concept of war. Bank accounts are being frozen; planes are not going into Russia; bars are throwing out their Russian vodka; people are protesting, even people in Russia who do not support these actions. Is it possible that, as a species, we have outgrown the need for war? Is it possible that this whole affair is a test for the world, a test to see if we’re willing to stand against war and for democracy? If so, we’re passing right now.
It dismays me, of course, when I see some U.S. citizens aligning themselves against democracy. It is dismaying to see people in our country willing to give up democracy for autocracy while we watch the Ukrainian people willing to give their lives and fight to maintain their democratic society.
I remember during the last presidential race a woman interviewed on television said she didn’t care if the United States was run by a dictator as long as the dictator was Donald Trump. Of course, she didn’t understand that if our country became a dictatorship there would be no guarantee she would always like the person doing the dictating. Much better, I think, that we stay a democracy and do our best to be sure everyone has the right to vote and then honor the votes even when our candidate doesn’t win.
Did you see the video where a woman stood in front of a Russian soldier and told him to leave Ukraine? She also told him to take some sunflower seeds and put them in his pocket so when he died, sunflowers would grow where he fell. The sunflower is Ukraine’s national flower. You can read about how the sunflower came to be the national flower and watch the video of the woman standing up to the Russian soldier here.
A woo-woo something I’m doing that I believe can add to the energy of ending this outrageous behavior being displayed by Putin is imagining him with his arms wrapped around himself and they are being held in place in such a way that he cannot move or use them. Sometimes his arms are being held by rope and other times he is in a straightjacket. Basically, he is immobilized and I see him as being unable to take any further actions against Ukraine or anyone else.
Yes, I realize that whatever we wish for others comes back to us. Okay. I don’t mind being immobilized to hurt people, so I feel safe in seeing him this way. Of course, I also surround him in white Light which hopefully will help cleanse him of the darkness he has immersed himself in. Join me, if you wish, and share what you’re doing in the comments section below.
Wishing you continued well-being and joy…..
Living with grace and ease,

When I read your vision of Putin with his arms wrapped around himself, before I got to the part about them being held in place to immobilize him, my mind went with the vision of him hugging himself, giving himself the love he needs so he wouldn't need to be such a dictator bully! Immobilizing himself, with no need for violence toward others. Just where my mind landed. Everyone visualizes what works for them!
Krysta, thank you for your insight. As with most dictators or authoritarians, logic and good will are not part of their thought process. I am impressed with the world response as well, but Putin will only be stopped with like violence I am afraid, and he has one of the world's largest armies behind him. I can hope that love and goodwill will override his autocracy.
