It isn’t necessary for me to state how I feel about Russia invading Ukraine. Like you, I’m sure, I’m astonished this is happening and very sad. As I have watched Ukranians leave their homes and country, a thought arose that I want to share with you. It is this.
There are no guarantees in life.
In developed countries such as the United States, it’s easy to fall into the trap of believing we’re guaranteed “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness” as stated in our Declaration of Independence. For many, this has been expanded into meaning we are guaranteed a stable, healthy, income from a deeply satisfying career, good relationships, health, a good juicer, and a Pelaton exercise bike. Oh, and don’t forget the Keurig® coffee maker.
Here’s the truth. We’re not promised any of this and even if we have them, there is no guarantee we’ll get to keep them. When I saw some every day Ukranians walking down the highway pulling their luggage behind them, I wondered what they were leaving behind. What had they worked so hard for that they were now having to let go of, to walk away from, without any idea if they would return to their homes.
Would you be ready to walk away from your home with only what you could fit in a rolling suitcase? As I asked in an earlier newsletter, have you learned how to let go? We are not guaranteed anything except the opportunities to grow and learn during the time we’re allowed to take up space on this planet. The sooner we realize this and live accordingly, the sooner we can live with a greater sense of peace that can’t be stolen from us.
If at all possible, find a way to donate to an organization that is helping the Ukranian people with the necessities of life as well as assisting them resettle in safer areas. Even small donations can help and you can use your search engine to find the various groups offering help.
We can offer spiritual support through our prayers for right action on everyone’s parts, especially the Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Maybe if we bombard him with Light, some of it will sink in. I know this is a long-shot since he is aligned with such deep darkness, but we must try.
I offer what support I can to all those involved in this war. Many heroes are being revealed right now. I’m sure most of them never thought this could happen to them. Let’s send them blessings and love along with whatever physical aid we can.
Living with grace and ease,
Krysta
