This might sound harsh, but….
How do you hold yourself accountable - or do you? Lots of us in the spiritual community do various things to improve our lives, such as meditate, yoga, and reading spiritual books. Others are involved in some sort of healing or manifesting processes. Have you ever started out with the best of intentions to do or not do something and then in a week or so you’re right back where you started? Think January!
Here’s something I and many of the people I’ve worked with have learned. Without some way to hold ourselves accountable, it is very easy to revert to old habits in a short period of time. There are different ways to do this, of course. This can be the magic of being involved in a therapy, 12-step group or belonging to a MasterMind group. Writer’s and painter’s groups are another way to help yourself stay on the creative track.
For those with a visceral need, there’s making yourself a chart and using a pen or pencil (do they still make those?) to check off what you do on a daily basis. I know some people will think this is old-fashioned, that just following one’s intuition on a daily basis to see what happens is the way to go. Perhaps this does work for some. For most of us, however, finding a physical way to hold ourselves accountable for the behaviors and goals we want to actualize works and helps us move forward a lot faster than when we don’t ground ourselves in this way. Give it a try and let me know what happens!
Have a splendid week!
Living in grace and ease,
Krysta
