As I mentioned before, Rhonda wanted us to stay at old fashioned motels along the way. I didn’t check them out because she is very good at verifying things and I trusted her not to put us up at the Bates Motel. When we pulled in to the Sharon Motel yesterday evening, I turned to her and said “What have you done to us? I feel like we’re in a movie - and a scary one at that.” She said, “I don’t know” and headed to the office to sign us in.
Once we were in our room all was well and it was actually quite roomy, clean, and nice. Pearl gave her stamp of approval so we knew we’d be okay.
Another look……
The drive yesterday was great, but it wasn’t until the end of the day that I realized I hadn’t taken any pictures of the gorgeous hills, rocks, and cloud formations we saw. I took mental photos but none I can share here.
Rhonda loves to take photos so we drove around Wells, Nevada a little bit. Rhonda found an old hotel/casino and fell in love taking photos from the car. Before long a state trooper pulled up beside us to ask if everything was okay. Uh-oh. Rhonda explained how she loves to take photos of old buildings and turn them into colored pencil drawings. He told us the history of the place and how it had been damaged in an earthquake. He said maybe she could make it famous by turning it into a drawing and bringing attention to it. Then he wished us a safe trip and left.
Soon, we begin the last long leg of our journey arriving in Phoenix Monday around noon when our new life begins. Adventures galore await!
Moving in grace and ease,
Krysta
