Our country came to a fork in the road and had to choose which way to go. Slightly over half the country chose a dark path. For whatever reasons they might think they have, this half of the country chose a man who is a convicted felon, convicted by a jury of his peers, a jury he and his lawyers approved of. A man who could not be hired for many jobs in this country because of these convictions, but just landed the top one this country has to offer. A man who over 26 women have said molested them and several more who said he raped them. A man whose history has been plagued by business failures. A 78-year old man who appears less mentally and physically stable every day. A man who claims he will be a dictator on day one of his time in office. Let me stop there. You know the rest of it.
The path not chosen by them was one that, among other things, offered stability, a return to values, forward movement, acceptance of all people, and a sense of higher purpose. Most of you reading this are in the second group and aren’t sure how to respond or what to do. I have read some people on Facebook who say they are taking the “high road” and continuing their service to the planet and aren’t going to let this turn of events upset them. I get that. However……
I think it is very important for us to accept how we feel before trying to move on so quickly. For me, I am very sad, somewhat angry, still confused by how on earth this man managed to weasel his way into these people’s hearts and minds so that they accepted the idea of voting for him despite all the negatives he brings to the table. They voted for him even though they know he and his sidekicks will do everything they can to cause a lot of harm to people the voters know personally or who they are related to. They chose him over their own families. Truly amazing. This is cult behavior, for sure.
I’ve listened to some of the television people who are much smarter than I and some of their explanations make a lot of sense. Yet, even understanding how it happened leaves me feeling sad and disappointed. What to do?
I know we will be okay in the long run. But in the immediate times, I think it is important to acknowledge how we feel before trying to pick up the pieces and moving on. I advise everyone to give yourself the space to feel what you’re feeling, ask if there is anything you need to do right now to help yourself, others, or the situation, and then be very good to yourself. We will get through this. Hopefully the country can survive this man in the White House for a second time. We have to keep doing all we can to move the country we love in a forward direction despite all the people trying to pull us backwards.
Let’s keep shining our lights even brighter than before, support one another, and keep trusting that Divine Mother knows what she’s doing even when it looks dark and bleak. Day always follows night.
I just finished watching Kamala’s speech after the election and she mentions shining our lights, “billions of stars…” Here it is if you haven’t seen it.

Immediately, I realized what I and my party, Dems, had done wrong.
I've been sharing it with other Dems: I feel that we Dems should have stood more firmly for Joe Biden's candidacy. He'd certainly earned a 2nd term and putting so much effort and repetition into drubbing him should have been directed to praising and keeping him.
I do believe that a lot of repetitions of falsehoods about his popularity and his polls were messed with to erect more inaccuracies about him--Russia, China, GOPs, etc.
Trump once again proves that even a hideously flawed candidate can win with full support.
Using the word "gaffes" for Biden is inaccurate, though repeated until people think it's true.
As an erudite politician said, "Biden's rare 'sotto voces' are always what all of us are thinking."
I praised Biden in letters to him for being a current Will Rogers who was famous for spreading truths with his humor. Like Biden, he succeeded well in staying on good terms with most people...very bipartisan, very kind with people of all beliefs. I also praised Biden for being like Franklin Roosevelt with his great plans that came into fruition to help so many people.
