When we intend to do something, to manifest something, no matter how large or small, generally there will be some bumps in the road. Sometimes the bumps become hills and mountains. A year and four months ago, I wrote in my journal that I intended to own our house free and clear. I wanted to be mortgage-free. I had no idea how this would happen and as the process unfolded, I was constantly amazed. I had no idea our home would be in Phoenix, Arizona!
Yesterday, the house we moved into almost two weeks ago became ours. It is 100% ours. No mortgage at all. We are thrilled, of course. And as I look back at the last year and four months that it took for this to manifest, I realize how much projects such as this require us taking one step at a time. We put one foot in front of the other and move forward while not always knowing where we’ll end up or what sort of adjustments we might have to make.
I also realize how many other people are involved. Sometimes when the challenges arise, they have nothing to do with us. Our intention is somehow braided into someone else’s and we impact one another in unseen ways. The players in buying a house are many and each of them impact the others. There are sellers and buyers, at least two realtors, bankers and mortgage brokers, inspectors, movers, cleaners, repair professionals….and each of these impacts all of the others. A hiccup from one can throw the entire group into mayhem.
Only with persistence, patience, wisdom, trust and a huge reservoir of humor can we stay the course through to conclusion. Whatever project is yours right now, embrace the multitude of people, events, twists and turns, that are there for you. Be ready for a magical surprise. One of my favorite sayings is from Helen Keller who said, “Life is a grand adventure or nothing at all!” How true this is.
Moving with grace and ease,
Krysta
