It's done.
The last issue of New Spirit Journal was posted Christmas day.
Of course, I have mixed feelings about New Spirit Journal ceasing active publication. I feel sad because it is the end of an era for me. I feel excited because I will have more time to devote to other pursuits. So, mixed feelings.
Some people have said I am retiring, but that isn’t accurate. A very good friend and mentor of mine used to say, “Never retire. Maybe change what you do or how you do it, but don’t retire. The world still needs all of us giving our gifts as long as we can.”
One of my readers called this change reigniting and sent me this poem which I am sharing with her permission:
Reignite
When a star shines so bright
And flickers a possible burn out
It’s time to Reignite
With a new creative turn out
Having lived & learned & given so much
Having created & manifested beyond human touch
Serving God’s magic for the world to see
It was always done with a personal humility
But that’s not all, as we continue to grow
To expand, to learn & to share the glow
Let’s fan the flame and spread the light
And be Happy, Joyous & Free – It’s called Reignite!

Reigniting sounds and feels more like what I’m doing. I remember so well when I began my first foray into the world of publishing with The New Times newspaper in 1985. I was a young woman of 37 and I didn’t know what I was doing - only why I was doing it, and my passion ran deep and wide. My goal was to share information that would help people grow and learn and nurture their spiritual natures. This morphed over the years into several other publications, books, my YouTube channel, classes, and mentoring. You can read the entire story, if you wish, through my autobiography at Amazon.
The world of publishing has changed significantly since then and I have changed with it as best I could. This latest change is simply the next step. The world is more fragmented and divided than I have ever seen it (in this incarnation) and this makes the work of people like myself - and you - more challenging. It also makes it more exciting.
The planet is going through substantial changes and not everyone is handling the changes very well. Some people are defiant and angry: how dare the world change in ways that don’t suit me. Others grab hold of the more comfortable conspiracy theories that they hope will make sense of the dizziness they feel. The insecure grab hold of power however they can, not realizing it’s false power and won’t do them any good in the long run. And then some simply deny anything is happening and wonder why nothing works for them any more.
It can be challenging to stay grounded and centered in the middle of all this, but it is doable and I know you know how. Use the tools you already have and learn new ones as we move forward. I think the ride is going to get bumpier before it smooths out, so get settled for the long haul. It is my hope that what I share through my newsletters, classes, and mentoring will offer some comfort and guidance. Thanks for taking the ride with me!
With grace and ease,
Krysta
