I'm not going to talk about the Spring Equinox
Everybody and their cat has been writing about Spring the last few days. I started to give my two cents worth and then realized you have probably read some of these articles as well, have welcomed the Spring renewal energies into your life, and are ready for something else.
Shall we talk about negativity and what to do about it? Let’s. Right now, it can be incredibly challenging to be in a positive space. Rarely are we given good news. Open any news website or turn on any newsy program and you are inundated with negativity. This is because so many negative things are happening in the world today. We don’t have to let this energy into our mental or emotional space. We can be compassionate without destroying our own psychic and emotional space.
Set your intention to be peaceful at the beginning of your day. Get into that space and make some sort of touchstone for yourself. It might be the word peace, the word love, or it could be something physical like a favorite stone, picture, or your cat or dog. Make the intention that when you focus on your touchstone, you can return to your place of peace and safety. If you feel sad, scared or overwhelmed, use your touchstone to come back to the place you want to live.
If you start to feel helpless about the war in Ukraine, the bickering and negativity among our supposed leaders, challenging family situations, or anything else, discover your way to help. If you can send money to the organizations who are trying to support the people of Ukraine, do that. If there are physical ways you can help in any negative situation, do it.
A powerful way to help is to use your imagination. We are powerful creative beings, even though we have been taught the opposite and made to feel weak and helpless. As children we were probably told to stop daydreaming, let go of our imaginary friends, and get on with the serious business of living. Maybe this wasn’t the best advice after all. We can use our imaginations to “see” peace in Ukraine, to “see” Putin backing off and stopping his reign of terror.
We can even imagine ourselves flying over Ukraine and spreading light and peaceful intentions, sort of like the helicopters flying over fires and releasing fire retardant helping to stop the fires. One of my most recent favorite things to do is pretend I’m Mother from the television show Raised by Wolves. Mother, played by Amanda Collin, is an android who is tasked with raising human children on planet Kepler-22b. Mother has some special eyes she can wear when she flies over certain areas. With these eyes she becomes the necromancer who can and does kill humans.
She can also fly over areas and save people. Sometimes I imagine myself as Mother flying over Ukraine, the halls of Congress, Russia, North Korea and other hot spots on the planet while I’m spreading peace, hope, Light and Love. Hey, it’s my imagination and I get to do with it what I want. To be fair, though, it is pretty difficult to fully imagine myself as Mother. That woman doesn’t have an ounce of fat on her. She is so trim and slim, she barely exists. Sometimes I wonder if her handlers let her eat anything.
Despite my digression, the point I’m making is this. We don’t have to feel helpless. We don’t have to fall prey to the negativity that surrounds us constantly these days. We have the power and ability to live from a place of positivity and by doing that we can spread healing energies to be used by those who need them and want to receive them.
We will survive this amazing time of growth and maturation for the planet and we can do so with grace and ease if we decide to do so and see ourselves successful in whatever works best for us.
