Just like suffering, struggling is optional. Sure, life throws us the occasional challenge. By this point in your life, you know what’s most important is how we handle the challenge, not the challenge itself. There are certain ways we can live that deflect negativity and challenges. We keep fiddling with the world of effects instead of living in the world of cause and then wonder why we keep getting more of what we don’t want. Another way to say this is there are ways we can live that make us more magnetic to the good stuff in life. Here’s a few of them.
1. Being honest, truthful, and living in integrity is a way to be a magnet for good. Tell yourself and others the truth and live in accordance with your highest beliefs. Being honest and truthful with ourselves is just as important as being honest and truthful with others.
2. Be kind to others and to yourself. For many of us, it is easier to be kind to others. If we aren’t kind to ourselves, however, kindness won’t run in our veins, and we can’t be kind to others.
3. Live unattached to the outcome of what we’re doing. Accept things as they are while also making improvements in our lives. Although you think you want a particular outcome, the Universe might have a greater good in store for you. Being unattached to outcomes gives these surprises a doorway into your life.
4. Similar to three, learn to be content with your life even though it is imperfect.
5. Learn to deal with fear and nervousness by using your powers of concentration. When we focus on what we’re doing, there is no room for fears or nervousness. These only enter our consciousness when we relax our focus on what we’re intending or doing.
6. Develop will power – stay the course. Once you decide to do something, do it. Don’t waffle or doubt yourself. If you have made a poor choice, the Universe will let you know. In the meantime, be committed to your plan of action.
7. Be enthusiastic – if you can’t be enthused about your life, why not? Yes, there are days when it’s more difficult to feel positive, much less have enthusiasm. However, if this lack becomes the norm rather than the exception it’s time to revisit your plans. It might be time for a change.
8. Be aware of your environment - this is a huge factor in who we are and can become. It’s important to surround ourselves with people who are positive, energetic, and living their lives from the highest place possible for them. I’m not only referring to the people who are physically in our lives. I’m also referring to the influence of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, news outlets, etc. Any of these, if allowed, can take us down a rabbit hole of negativity and fear before we know what’s happening.
If you spend a bit of time with each of these concepts on a regular basis and adjust your sails as needed, I think you’ll discover your life has a lot less struggle and a great deal more joy!
Living in grace and ease,
Krysta
This is imporwering to me and falls right in line with my current self parenting plan. It doesn't feel like just another thing I need to use willpower on. It feels like behavior that actually fits with the belief system I have nurtured the past 18 years since I got sober. Hugs to you for this Krysta.
