Expect the unexpected!
This brief statement offers great wisdom for all of us today. There’s so much happening on the political front in this country and throughout the world. Every day seems to bring another turn of the page in this drama. It’s important to keep everything in perspective so we can stay balanced and not get sucked in to the stories being played out in front of us minute-by-minute.
How to do this?
It requires a certain mindset to keep from being sucked in. It requires begin able to step back from the edge of the abyss. It requires being able to stay centered within ourselves so we can hear and act on inner guidance.
It requires some sort of mindfulness or meditation-prayer practice. This enables us to stay within our own center while the storms rage around us. Staying centered doesn’t mean we don’t care and it doesn’t mean we don’t take action - we take inspired action that flows from a place of groundedness. This is the sort of action that makes a difference.
Allowing ourselves to expect any and everything also lets us stay in a state of acceptance of whatever comes. There is so much anger, so much power-grabbing, so many lies, so much hatefulness floating around in the ethers that, truthfully, almost anything can happen. Expect the unexpected and you won’t be shocked or fall into a state where you can’t make decisions or take actions.
Most of all, we have to remember there are forces far greater than we are and these forces are handling whatever happens. It might not be to our liking. It might be hurtful to many people. But there is a bigger picture being painted here and remembering that supports us in making good decisions and taking inspired actions.
Most of all, living this way allows us to live in grace and ease rather than fear and intimidation. I know which I choose. What about you?
Happy Valentines Day!

I noticed a "misspelling" of the word BEING. You wrote "....BEGIN able to...." and in the next sentence it was spelled correctly, "....BEING able to...." I read this and saw a different message in it: "BEGIN BEING ABLE!" The important thing is to begin being ABLE and this allows us to transform our way of thinking and the language we use to express transformation. We might be in a state of being UNable because we've chosen disability over ability. We have the power to choose to be ABLE, able to ____ fill in the blank. We're really talking about the ABILITY TO BEGIN BEING!
