Creativity and Synchronicity…..
This morning, I realized that the more I allow my creativity to be front and center in my life, the more synchronicities and surprises show up. When I review the last 40 years, I look at my various creative projects and see how this is so. A person I needed to speak with would just happen to show up or a piece of information I wanted would drop into my lap. People I didn’t know stepped up to help me in a variety of ways.
I remember a particularly impactful event that happened in 1985 when I started my first newspaper, The New Times, in Seattle, Washington. As those of you who have read my autobiography know, I started The New Times with faith and a prayer and no financial resources. I put one foot in front of the other and just kept moving. During a particularly trying time when I was tempted to give up, I was walking to my car when I saw an object on the sidewalk in front of me. It was a dark rock shaped like a heart.
How did it get there? That’s a mystery and it meant the world to me. The heart-shaped rock reminded me that I was loved in more ways than I knew and that what I was creating was heart-based. I believe this was in direct response to my willingness to follow my vision and use my creativity to overcome whatever obstacles stood in my way. I put the rock in my pocket and renewed my commitment to creating The New Times which ended up being a significant source of information and inspiration for thousands of people.
Whatever your creative projects might be, you can expect some natural ups and downs. If you remain committed and open, you will have wonderful surprises showing up along the way. To this day, I carry that little rock in my pocket and every morning I ask, “What wonderful surprises does the Universe have in store for me today?” I am never disappointed.
Creating with joy, grace, and ease,
Krysta

This is a wonderful story, and what I love best about it is the photo. That little rock is so shiny it's easy to see it's well-loved. From the slopes of the Cascades to a pocket in saguaro country... what stories that little rock could tell! And what a sweet larger message. Thank you!
Had a fun and funny dream last night. I always let those take my front when I have them. Big smiles! Ariele
