A fun technique for you to try
Here’s a fun technique that has been around a long time. I first learned it in the 1980’s from the writings of Catherine Ponder. In the past few years, I have seen several other teachers give their version of it. This is a way to collapse time and even reverse it.
What you do is sit down and write a letter to someone. It can be a friend, advisor, or even an imaginary person – you could even write it to me! Choose a time period – we’ll go with one day for this example.
Write the letter as if you are writing it at the end of the day where everything went just the way you wanted it to go, as if you were exactly the person you wanted to be. Write with emotion and excitement – the more emotion, the better. Here’s a brief sample:
“Dear Krysta,
I am so excited I can hardly wait to tell you about my day. The traffic on the way in was amazing – there was hardly anyone on the freeway and the people there were so polite. I glided into the office. Every client who came to see me was a delight. They worked on their issues and all of them are progressing. I am so happy for them. I feel so satisfied. I even had some new clients get in touch with me.
I had a number of pleasant surprises today and was able to make a larger bank deposit than expected. All my relationships today were perfect – people treated me with respect as I did them. Gotta go, but I did want to share this great day with you.”
This can be done for big or small things. Why don’t we try it for what’s going on in the world today? Why not write a letter as if it is November 6th or the end of the year. Detail how the political situation in our country and the world has shifted to one of greater democracy and people-centeredness.
The idea is that you put situations out into the Universe as something which has already happened and this opens the doorway for it to drop into your present-day reality. Give it a try. It’s a lot of fun – and do try it on the big things you are trying to accomplish as well as on the smaller ones. It really does work!
Living in grace and ease,
Krysta
